About Kelsey Ashe

Inspired by the historical ornamentation of cultures antique and exotic, Director Kelsey Ashe has a deep fascination with pattern and decoration and its use in our lives. Kelsey has completed both an Honours and Masters degree in textiles and is currently completing her PhD in this field, researching in particular how a traditional Japanese aesthetic has influenced the design of contemporary Australian printed textiles.

Textile designs created by Kelsey Ashe have been used by leading Australian labels Empire Rose, Morrison, Wheels and Dollbaby and more recently Kelsey has been commissioned by international labels Nautica and the Vanity Fair Corporation. In 2012 Kelsey was invited to exhibit at the Future of Apparel Summit in the U.S.A. facilitated by the Chelsea School of Design in London’s T.E.D. (Textiles Environment Design) Project.
