Ashe Feature in “Textile Visionaries” just keeps giving….

15 Feb 2015

The UK Fashion author Bradley Quinn discovered my work in 2012 and things have not been the same since.  With a 6 Full Colour page feature on ASHE, plus the honour of being asked to design the cover and end papers for this Internationally distributed book, it really helped “put me on the map”.  I’ve since been able to do some amazing collaborations and hopefully there are more to come!  Thank you Bradley Quinn for the recognition!

Textile Designers at the Cutting Edge 2 – cover design by Ashe!

09 Oct 2012

Merrel Publishers chose an Ashe motif to design the front cover of “Textile Designers at the Cutting Edge 2″ – so I was thrilled. The publishers wanted something similar yet new for the cover – so this design is very similar to the first book. But then! The publishers decided that the book needed a new title – to stand on its own, rather than be a continuation of the previous book. I started thinking…”oh perhaps my designs will not make the cover of the new book.. :(” But then! Another most welcome email popped through…(see next blog)text2

Kenzo

24 Sep 2012

For Textile, Fashion and book lovers alike – this stunning book is for you – I’m sure you have discovered it already – but I wanted to make special mention of this book (which is all about global Fashion/Textile label Kenzo) because Bradley Quinn is one of the contributing authors. Bradley Quinn is God of Fashion Journalism as far as I’m concerned – especially since he decided to include me in his next two books – “Fashion Futures” and “Textile Designers at the cutting edge 2” – what a man!Kenzo_Book

Textile Designers at the Cutting Edge

08 Sep 2012

This wonderful book has been on my bookshelf for a long time; I have followed the books of Bradley Quinn for obvious reasons – he has written titles such as “Chinese Style””, “Design Futures”, “Textile Futures”, “The Boot” “Mid-Century Modern” – and many others including a contribution within the amazing “Kenzo” book mentioned before. So…can you imagine…..my EXCITEMENT!!!…..when Bradley asked to include ME (yes Ashe!) in his next book “Textile Designers at the Cutting Edge “? I’m faint with excitement….more details to come!T1

Gene Sherman Fremantle Arts Centre talks

08 Aug 2012

The Fremantle Arts Centre Fashion Talks this year were a little different to normal…and very interesting for me. The talks were centred around collectors and curators of fashion and last night I attended Dr. Gene Sherman’s discussion on her work as a gallery operator and collector of Japanese Fashion (Issey Miyake etc.) Her admiration for Japanese culture and contemporary fashion was evident and her intuitive approach to a sculptured fashion figure was intriguing. I could go on and on as I took pages of notes, but the key thing I took from her talk was “make order from the intuitive response”…Wonderful.Sherman-420x0

Ashe featured in “Fashion Futures”

05 Apr 2012

Just released by Merrell Publishers – is the beautiful glossy tome – “Fashion Futures” by Bradley Quinn. With internationally profiled designers, I feel extremely priveleged to be featured in this book as a designer interested in using sustainable materials. The book is a thought-provoking overview of how fashion will look, perform and be manufactured and purchased in the twenty-first century. Also featured is the beautiful work of Sheree Dornan – a long time friend and fellow designer with very similar interests to mine. Vunderbar!Fashionfutures
