Q
Tell me more about the 100% Silk Crepe de Chine?

The silk crepe de chine is a semi-sheer 100% silk with a delicate texture and beautiful drape. It has a printed area of 107cm in width and a weight per lineal metre of 81gms. This silk is suited for dresses, blouses, pajamas and lingerie. We recommend dry cleaning using solvent free cleaning methods.

Please note that the texture of this silk does attract some very slight bleeding in dark colours along the edges of design elements – sometimes, not always! I’m afraid this is just part and parcel of digital printing on silk so allow for this possibility when you order your silk.

Q
Tell me more about the Gift Wrap rolls?

These rolls of luxurious paper are printed with a satin finish. Each roll is printed right to the edge and measures 180cm x 66cm. They make the most exquisite wrapped presents – or use the roll as an inexpensive impromptu art work either framed or un-framed! See our blog for more ideas….

Q
How long will my product take to get here?

Every Ashe item is custom made to order. We strive to be environmentally friendly as possible – which means we “make to order” saving on excessive stock and unnecessary consumption! Some really popular items however we do have in stock – so if its available we will post it straight away. Allow 3 weeks usually – it takes time to bring you such a high quality product!

Q
Can I return what I ordered?

If for any reason you are unhappy with your order, please email us at info@ashestore.com.au with your reasons for wanting to return the item and get it back in the post to us within 7 days of receiving. We are happy to refund faulty products but please choose carefully to avoid costly postage for exchanges! For more specifics please see our Terms and Conditions link.

Q
How does your shipping work?

We’ve chosen to use good old Australian Post standard shipping. All orders within Australia are delivered Free of Charge.

With International Shipping, you will receive an email when your order is shipped explaining how it was shipped. International orders may be subject to duties and taxes which are outside of our control. It is our experience that orders shipped through a tracked method are more likely to incur fees when they arrive at your door. ! For more specifics please see our Terms and Conditions link.

Q
How do I care for the Ashe fabrics and cushion covers I order?

Please use phosphate-free detergents!

I usually recommend hand washing Ashe fabrics – (all fabric and clothing items will last longer when cared for super carefully), however they will be fine thrown in the washing machine from time to time on a cool, delicate cycle. Iron on the reverse side to the appropriate heat setting for the fabric type.

The only exception is the Silk Crepe de Chine which I recommend dry cleaning using solvent free cleaning methods (ask them if they have this service first).

I wash my own Linen/Cotton canvas cushion covers in the washing machine and they always come up beautifully. After washing place them in the shade (no direct sunlight), smooth them out flat and they should dry without even having to iron.

Q
My brand new Ashe canvas cushions look crumpled!

Don’t worry, you won’t be ironing all the time! – This cotton/linen canvas blend softens to a beautiful texture which doesn’t crease. When the cushions are brand new they might initially look creased (especially after being squished into the mailing parcel), but after a little use they soften all over and look gorgeously crease free. Some people like the crumpled linen look! If you are one of them – when you wash your canvas pillows – don’t smooth them out to dry but let them dry kookily… naturally.

All our fabrics are made from natural fibres, so creases will fall out if your hang the fabric up. If you need to; iron on the reverse side to the print at a heat setting appropriate to the fabric type.

Q
Where are Ashe products made?

Kelsey Ashe designs all the prints sitting in her sunny Fremantle garden studio!

Our Ashe cushion ranges are made in Fremantle Australia, sometime right here in the Ashe Studio or in the studios of other local artisans and creative makers.

The Ashe “The Prints” book is printed and bound in Australia.

Our Art Prints are printed right here in the Ashe Studio or by local businesses in Fremantle, Australia.

The Wall paper, fabric and Gift Paper rolls are made in the US – although we are always looking for local producers for our products!

Q
Do you do private commissions, individual designs or special orders?

It really depends on how busy I am! Occasionally I have created new designs exclusively for another company, but usually I am just too busy – prints can take weeks (even years in some cases!) to develop and refine.

However I do love an exciting collaboration with my existing catalogue of works – so email your ideas about how Ashe fabrics could be combined with your product to create something really unique.

I can also colour match to a pre-selected colour of your choice to create a bespoke fabric just for you. i.e. If you would love a particular Ashe design in a colour palette of your choice – I can create a new file with your colours and print it on your choice of fabric.

Email us your private commission or licensing query to info@ashestore.com.au
